2023 was a historic season for Calvary Baptist Academy football! Our first undefeated season in school history was also marked by impressive wins over Shreve, Byrd, Westgate, Parkview, Newman, and St Charles who appeared in the title game for the fifth straight year. To commemorate our accomplishments and to help raise money for another trip to the Dome, we commissioned a print, “Season of Perfection”, that captures some of the biggest moments from the championship game.
Two-time state champion, Coach Rodney Guin signed a limited edition of 50 prints that sell for $300 each and unsigned prints are available for $75 each. Only about half of the signed prints are still available, so don’t delay ordering if you want to make sure you get one signed by a living legend. There are not too many coaches around who are in their 41st season and have had the impact Coach Guin has made on countless young men’s lives.

Spring Pictures
Hello Spring! It’s Spring Portrait Time!
Spring pictures will be taken at school on Thursday, March 14, for those interested. Students who are
photographed will receive a yellow sheet with instructions for viewing and ordering. Simply scan the QR code
with your phone, type in your info, and when ready, you’ll receive an invitation to view your child’s photos
through email. If your child is photographed and you do not receive a QR code, you may email
cowenstudiosnela@gmail.com.
Uniform Requirements
Boys may wear long pants or uniform shorts. Belts must be worn if the pants have belt loops.
Shirts must be tucked in. No t-shirts, please.
GIrls may wear dresses, skirts or long pants. No shorts will be allowed. Dresses and skirts should
be no shorter than two inches above the top of the knee. Tops worn with skirts or pants must be
long enough to cover the midriff entirely, even when arms are raised. Sun dresses and low-cut
blouses are prohibited. Sandals or backless shoes may be work.
Spring pictures are optional.
All students not taking pictures must be in uniform.
MS Football Meeting
Join us for our annual middle school football parent meeting on Monday, April 8 2024 in the Elementary Cafeteria.
Washington D.C. Trip Meeting
There will be an informational meeting for all sophomore and junior parents about next year’s Washington D.C. trip on Tuesday, March 12, at 7:00 pm in the elementary cafeteria.

INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Parents of 4th through 8th grade boys, please come out for an informational meeting regarding the future of Calvary Lacrosse. We’ll share information about the game, opportunities to train, learn about the sport and answer any questions about the future of lacrosse at Calvary. Our intentions are to begin training this spring, play in local youth leagues next spring and grow into High School starting spring 2026.
Men’s lacrosse is a sport that has many similarities to soccer, basketball, hockey and football. High School Lacrosse in
Louisiana is organized under the Louisiana High School Lacrosse League which was formed in 2008. It currently supports 21 programs throughout the state with 40 varsity and JV teams and over 1,000 student athletes. The high school season starts in February and ends the 1st weekend in May (2023 championship
weekend was May 6,7).

Blood Drive
Calvary will host a blood drive in partnership with Life Share Blood Center on Wednesday, February 14th. We encourage our students to sign up to donate at https://donor.lifeshare.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/262903. Eligible students, ages 16 (with a waiver) through 18, can earn an honor cord for their donations. The drive will be held from 9:00am to 2:00pm in the Fireside Room.
8th Grade Louisiana Trip
8th Grade Students: The deadline to register for the South Louisiana trip is Thursday, February 15th! This will be two days of learning and memories, and we encourage each of you to participate! Reach out to Mr. Hobson with any questions.
